Top Three Seeds Remain after Day Two at 2014 NAIA West Tournament
VANCOUVER, B.C. – Seasons came to a close and other teams lived to play another day on the second day of the 2014 NAIA West Grouping Tournament presented by U.S. Bank on Saturday at Thunderbird Park in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Game Four – Concordia 4, College of Idaho 1 - Box Score
Concordia starter Harrison McGhee went to distance for the Cavaliers as CU lived on to play another game, defeating College of Idaho, 4-1, in an elimination game. After Concordia opened up the scoring with a single run in the bottom of the fifth, the Yotes answered back in the top of the sixth to tie it at 1-1. CU then put up two runs in the bottom of the sixth and an insurance run in the eighth was enough to move Concordia forward with the 4-1 win.
Game Five – British Columbia 4, Corban 3 - Box Score
The host-Thunderbirds scored twice in the bottom of the eighth to pull ahead of the Warriors as British Columbia picked up a 4-3 win to stay perfect in tournament action. Despite the loss, Corban outhit UBC, 11-5, on the afternoon but the Thunderbirds managed to put the runs across as they advanced to play next on Sunday.
Game Six – Concordia 7, Menlo 6 - Box Score
After Menlo exploded for five runs in the bottom of the sixth, the Concordia Cavaliers scored the game winning run in the top of the ninth as the Cavs survived for the second time today, earning a 7-6 win to advance to Sunday. Austin Hadley came in for CU out of the bullpen, allowing just one hit over the final 1.1 innings to earn the win.

The champion of the 2014 NAIA West Grouping Baseball Championship presented by U.S. Bank will earn the conference’s automatic selection to the NAIA Opening Round.
