LA GRANDE, Ore. – Case Rada of Burbank, Wash. has signed a Cascade Conference Letter of Intent to play basketball for Eastern Oregon University during the 2014-15 season, head coach Jared Barrett announced today. Rada comes to EOU after spending last year at NCAA Division I Sacramento State.
"Case is a tremendous shooter. He will be a threat to score every time he touches the ball," head coach Jared Barrett said. "He has played at an elevated level for some great coaches and has been really successful. He is also a high character student athlete off the court and is exactly the type or person we want in our program."
In his one year at Sacramento State, Rada, a six-foot four-inch 195 pound guard, played in 20 games. He scored a season-high nine points against Montana.
Prior to his time at Sacramento State, Rada played his freshman year at Walla Walla Community College. At Walla Walla, Rada led the entire Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) in scoring averaging (24.0 points per game) and three pointers made (111). He earned First Team All-East Region honors during his freshman year. Rada scored a season-high 41 points against Columbia Basin College, where he went 11-of-18 from the three point line. He scored five games for the Warriors with at least 30 points.
Rada spent one year at NCAA Division I Boise State University where he redshirted during the 2011-12 season.
While in high school at Kamiakin High School, Rada played four years of basketball for the Braves. In his senior season in 2010-11, Rada was named First Team All-State and was the 3A Big Nine Conference Most Valuable Player. In his senior season, he averaged 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game for the Braves.
Rada is the sixth member of the 2014-15 recruiting class for Coach Barrett. Rada joins Bryan McGriff (Grays Harbor Community College), Dylan Radliff (Central Washington), Nick Edens (Gig Harbor High School), Caulin Bakalarski (South Kitsap High School) and Katahdin (KJ) Bosco (Benson Tech High School) in the recruiting class.
