KANSAS CITY, Mo. — For the second-straight year, Oklahoma City finishes the season ranked No. 1 in the NAIA Women’s Golf Coaches’ Postseason Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Friday. The Stars received all 17 first-place votes and 467 total points en route to its first No. 1 ranking of the year – 43rd all time.

Oklahoma City won its seventh all-time title in dramatic fashion, defeating previous-No. 1 SCAD Savannah (Ga.) in a playoff. The Stars trailed the Bees by five shots entering the final hole. The scoring trio of Anna Mikish, Kailey Campbell and Caroline Goodin played the 18th-hole 2-under-par for Oklahoma City, while SCAD Savannah’s golfers shot 1-over-par. As a team, Oklahoma City carded a four-round 1,209 (304-304-306-295).

National runner-up SCAD Savannah (Ga.) checks in at No. 2 with 452 points. The Bees were led by individual medalist Alazne Urizar’s 3-over-par 291 (76-71-73-71) at this year’s championship. SCAD Savannah has ranked among the top two in every poll this season.

Bellevue (Neb.) jumps four spots to No. 3 this week with 437 points, while No. 4 William Woods (Mo.) and No. 5 Cumberlands (Ky.) round out the remainder of the top five with 422 and 407 points, respectively. All three squads finished the national championships in the exact same position.

Within the poll, No. 9 Indiana Tech made the largest jump, moving up eight spots. The Warriors, who received an automatic berth after winning the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference championship, finished ninth at the 2014 championships with a score of 1,277 (318-326-320-313).

No. 25 SCAD Atlanta (Ga.) is the only newcomer this week.

The Sun Conference – SCAD Savannah, No. 8 Northwood (Fla.), No. 10 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) and No. 17 USC Beaufort (S.C.) – leads all conferences, independents and unaffiliated groupings with four teams among the Top 25.
