SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Nate Moses (Fresno, Calif./Bullard H.S.), Concordia University's two-time NAIA national champion in the discus throw, is set to represent the Cavaliers in his specialty at the 2014 USATF Outdoor Championships this week.

Ranked 15th in the entire country based off of USATF's performance list, Moses is one of only 10 non-professional or post-collegiate discus throwers to crack the 200-foot barrier this season in the discus. Moses tossed a school record and career best 202-9 (61.81m) on May 23 at the NAIA Championships en route to his second national title.

The U.S. Championships will run from June 26-29 at Sacramento State University's Hornet Stadium (capacity 21,195). The discus competition will begin at 3:15 p.m. (PST) on Friday, June 27.

In addition to winning this year's NAIA national title, Moses won the 2012 crown before redshirting in 2013.

This week's competition will be Moses' second career appearance at the U.S. National Championships after placing 14th overall at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in 2012. That year, Moses missed the finals by less than two feet with a 190-9 (58.14m) effort.
