Simonetti Steps Down as EOU Soccer Coach

LA GRANDE, Ore. – After guiding the Eastern Oregon University Women’s Soccer team the last two seasons, Jennifer Simonetti has announced she is stepping down as the head coach.
 
“We would like to thank Jen for her commitment and service to the University, the soccer program and the La Grande Community,” Athletic Director Anji Weissenfluh said. “This move is a wonderful opportunity for her family and we wish her all the best. Jen had made quite an impact on the soccer program and we look forward to continuing to build on what she started.”
 
Under Simonetti’s guidance the Mountaineers finished the 2013 season with the second best record in school history as EOU finished the year 9-5-1. She also guided the Mountaineers to its second ever appearance in the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament.
 
During her two seasons at Eastern Oregon, Simonetti compiled a record of 10-18-3.
 
During the 2013 season, Simonetti was named Cascade Collegiate Conference Co-Coach of the Year. She has coached six players who have earned All-Conference honors, one First Team All-CCC, three Second Team All-CCC and two All-CCC Honorable Mention players.
 
EOU will name an Interim Head Coach for the upcoming season by Monday, July 28th.
