PORTLAND, Ore. -
Molly Klinkhammer and
Crystal Foster tallied goals in the second half to lead Warner Pacific past Evergreen 2-0 at David Douglas High School tonight.
The Basics
• Score: Warner Pacific 2, Evergreen 0,
• Records: WPC (2-3-1), ESC (1-4-0)
• Location: Palermini Stadium, Portland, Ore.
• The Short Story: After a scoreless first half that was evenly played, Warner Pacific found the net twice in the second period to defeat Evergreen in a non-conference clash of Cascade Conference foes. The visiting Geoducks forced WP keeper
Allie Holterman into four saves during the first 45 minutes, but the senior was up to the challenge and punched away several attempts. Evergreen netminder Kayla Kitts stopped three shots in the half. The host Knights were the ascendant team after halftime, launching seven shots at the Geoduck goal while holding Evergreen to zero. WPC opened the scoring off the boot of Klinkhammer, who struck from 20 yards away in the 63rd minute.
Crystal Foster added an insurance goal nine minutes later after slotting a shot home from 10 yards away.
