The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period September 8-14.
 
Women’s Soccer- Defensive
 
Concordia’s Nicole Franklin, a junior from Hillsboro, Ore., has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Franklin set a career high with six saves in a 2-1 win in a road game against No. 2-ranked Westmont (Calif.) on Friday and came back to reestablish her career mark with a seven-save performance in a neutral match against Kansas Wesleyan on Sunday to keep the top-rated Cavaliers undefeated on the season at 7-0-1. For the season, Franklin holds a 0.42 goals against average.

Women’s Soccer- Offensive
 
Oregon Tech’s Amanda Hisey, a freshman from Medford, Ore., has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Hisey led Oregon Tech with two assists in a 3-1 win at Simpson (Calif.) and followed that up with two goals in a 6-0 win at Mills.
 
Honorable mention: Acacia Johnson, Northwest; Alicia Kolter, Concordia; Alanna Robinson, Corban
 
Men’s Soccer-Defensive
 
Northwest’s Brendon Wheeler, a junior from Snohomish, Wash., has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Wheeler was key in the two shutouts of Walla Walla last week as he anchored the Eagle defense which allowed just five shots in two games.

Men’s Soccer-Offensive
 
Northwest’s Taylor Young, a senior from Bellevue, Wash., has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Young scored two goals and had two assists in the NU wins over Walla Walla last week bringing his season total to 4 goals and 4 assists in as many games. The Eagle team captain is the CCC assist leader.

Volleyball- Offensive
 
Eastern Oregon’s Casey Loper, a senior from Powell Butte, Ore., has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Loper led the Mountaineers to a 3-0 week. She started the week with 18 kills and an EOU victory at College of Idaho. It was the Mountaineers first victory at C of I since 1996. Loper continued to lead the Mountaineers in kills against Evergreen (12) and Northwest (11). She has led the team in kills in every game but one this season. She also recorded 13 block assists for the week.

Volleyball- Defensive
 
Eastern Oregon’s Jessalyn Smith, a senior from Boise, Idaho, has been named the Red Lion Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Smith led the Mountaineers back row this week, as she recorded a team-high in digs in every match. She recorded a season-high 40 digs against College of Idaho. This was the Mountaineers first win at C of I since 1996.
 
Honorable mention: Nikki Keller, Southern Oregon
 
Men’s Cross Country
 
College of Idaho’s Max Hampton, a junior from Eagle, Idaho, has been named the Red Lion Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
Hampton won the individual title at the Roger Curran Invitational, helping College of Idaho to the team title.  He covered the 6000m course in 19:26.
 
Honorable mention: Jared Hixon, Southern Oregon
 
Women’s Cross Country
 
Northwest Christian’s Sierra Brown, a sophomore from Medford, Ore., has been named the Red Lion Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
Brown took second place and was just two seconds behind the individual winner from Simon Fraser as NCU won the Ash Creek Invitational with 27 points. Beacons defeated NCAA DII No. 16 SFU by 8 points and also beat NAIA No. 17 Concordia-Portland by 65 points.
 
Honorable mention: Summer Cano, Southern Oregon; Lila Klopfenstein, College of Idaho
