LA GRANDE, Ore. - Nineteen student athletes representing the CCC's ten member schools converged on Vancouver, WA. September 14th to take part in the second annual Cascade Collegiate Conference Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) the Conference office announced.

"As a conference we are committed to providing the best possible student athlete experience," stated Commissioner Rob Cashell.  "It only makes sense to to give a collective voice to the nearly 2500 student athletes that compete at our member institutions, their input in how we advance the CCC is important."

The student representatives, who were selected by the Athletic Directors on their campus, received an update from Eric Olson, Director of Championshiips at the NAIA regarding national issues and the potential development of a NAIA Student Athlete Advisory Committee related to experience and welfare. In addition, the group began formulating their plan for the 2014-15 year.

The CCC- SAAC serves the following functions:

- Discuss and provide feedback on conference issues affecting student-athlete welfare
- Assist in educating student athletes about CCC/NAIA issues on their home campus
- Increase and improve student-athletes' understanding of the CCC and NAIA Legislative process
- Promote student-athlete participation in department wide Champions of Character programs
- Provide a forum for addressing student-athlete concerns
