Concordia Men, Women Earn Team Titles at Oregon Tech Invite

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Corban University freshman Kade Crossland earned medalist honors for the men, while Madison Alamillo of Concordia University earned medalist honors for the women after three rounds of play at the Running Y Ranch Resort.  Both the Concordia women and men took home team titles at the Oregon Tech Invitational.

Alamillo paced the Concordia women with a three round total of 230 (74-77-79), while the Cavaliers went 1-2-3 with Abby Brennan posting a 236 (81-71-84), followed by teammate Lynsie Furuya one stroke behind with a 237 (72-85-79).  Brooke Spencer of Corban University finished 4th overall recording a 234 (86-79-73), while College of Idaho's Gabrielle Biesbrecht notched a 239 (81-77-81) and good for 5th place.

Concordia's 937 (311-305-321) was 90 strokes better than runner-up College of Idaho's 1027 (343-341-343).  Simpson followed with a team total of 1035 and Oregon Tech 4th after shooting 1101 (377-363-361).  Warner Pacific and Corban did not post team scores in the women's event.

For the men, Corban's Crossland was the only player to have three rounds of sub-par scoring, notching a nine-under 207 (70-67-70) in his three round effort. 

Concordia ran away with the men's title after placing four players in the top 8, including seven-under scores from both Ryan Malnychuk (72-69-68) and Jess Wingett (72-71-66) with a 209 total.  Wingett's 66 was low score of the event, recorded in today's round.  Kolton Kyne of Concordia added a one-over 217 (75-69-73). Oregon Tech's Tyler Swinton tied for 5th place after shooting a four-over 220 (71-76-73), tying Phillip Kennedy of Concordia, and playing as an individual, with a 220 (69-77-74).

The Cavaliers shot a 10-under as a team with a total of 854 (293-283-278).  Corban followed with an 893 (305, 295-293) +29, with Oregon Tech two strokes behind the Warriors tallying an 895 (295-305-295) +31.  Simpson and College of Idaho tied for 4th after scoring 920 each (+56).  Warner Pacific (942) +78, Oregon Tech B (977) +113 and Northwest Christian (921) +129 followed in order.
