Adidas Team of the Week Announced
LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Corban University women’s basketball team has been named the Adidas Team of the Week for January 5-11.
Corban ran their CCC record to 5-2 with a sweep of their weekend road games against Warner Pacific College and Concordia University.
In the 72-56 win over WPC, The Warriors were led by Jade Lowery with 21 points, while Tara Van Weerdhuizen had 17 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots. Sadie Pilgeram added 11 points and 10 rebounds to complete the double-double.
Against the Cavaliers, Corban built a 28 point lead in the second half and needed to withstand a furious CU comeback for the 66-55 win. Van Weerdhuizen tallied 20 points and 14 rebounds. Lowery added 18 points.
Corban (11-8, 5-2 CCC) will resume CCC action next week as they host the surging College of Idaho Coyotes and league leader Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers.
