LA GRANDE, Ore. – After a very successful first year, the Second Annual Cascade Collegiate Conference Mascot Challenge returns next week were fans can choose their favorite CCC mascot on the conference’s Facebook page.

Last year, Hootie the Owl of Oregon Tech was crowned the first ever CCC Mascot Challenge Champion after defeating Eastern Oregon's Monty the Mountaineer in the final stage of voting.

"Our First Annual Mascot Challenge last year was a huge success in engaging our conference schools and fans in expressing their institutional pride," stated CCC Commissioner Rob Cashell. "We look forward to year two being even better as we use social media to determine if Oregon Tech's Hootie can retain the title or if another mascot will emerge victorious."

The opening round will consist of two groups of five to establish seeding. The top four mascots in each group will move on to the quarterfinal round were they will be seeded based on the number of likes received. The rest of the challenge will be single elimination until a champion is crowned on February 11.

Each round will feature a different theme in an effort to drum up school spirit as the CCC basketball season reaches an apex.  Fans are invited to get their friends and family involved by sharing their favorite mascot.

Voting will open by 8am on the start date listed and close at 8am on the following day at https://www.facebook.com/CascadeCollegiateConference.
