LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team held the visiting Cavaliers, of Concordia (Ore.), to 29 percent shooting as EOU cruised to a 72-46 victory on Friday evening at Quinn Coliseum.

Coming off the bench, Maya Ah You led the Mountaineers (12-4, 4-1 CCC) with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including 2-for-3 from behind the arc. Madeline Laan followed with 14 points on 7-for-12 shooting from the floor. Kassy Larson and Nikki Osborne rounded out the double-digit scorers for EOU as they scored 11 points, apiece.

The Mountaineers' offense took off fast, on Friday, as they scored the first 11 points of the game, taking an early 11-0 lead over the first five minutes of the game. Laan scored six of the 11 points, while Kelsey Hill added five to cap off the run.

Eastern Oregon built their lead up to 15, 17-2, after an Ah You jumper.  Ah You's jumper was the last points for EOU for a four minute stretch that saw Cavaliers go on a 14-0 run, cutting EOU's lead to one point, 17-16, after a jumper by Briannah Smith.

The Mountaineers slowly started to extend their lead, again, against the Cavaliers late in the first half. With 4:18 left, EOU went on a 10-2 run that put the Cavaliers into a four minute scoring drought. EOU held a 35-22 lead at halftime.  EOU outscored the Cavaliers 28-to-8 in the first half in the paint.

Over the first nine minutes of the second half, the Mountaineers saw their lead grow from 13 points to 24, 52-28, as the Mountaineers started the second half on a 17 to six run. The run was capped off by a Morgan Freeman jumper.

Concordia had no answer for the Mountaineers and EOU continued to hold a commanding lead the rest of the game.  The biggest lead of the game for Eastern Oregon came with 51 seconds remaining as Ah You hit her second three of the game putting EOU ahead, 72-46, which was the final.
