EUGENE, Ore. – Northwest University came through with a solid second half to defeat New Hope Christian, 64-53, in a non-league game today. The Eagles borke open a 27-27 halftime tie to outscore the Deacons 37-26 in the second period to pull away for the victory The win improves the Eagles record to 9-5 for the season.
 
Chanara Greene led Northwest U with 17 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double, her seventh of the season. Jordan Asher added 16 points. Freshman Charmaine Bradford and sophomore Kristen Frey each scored 8 points for the Eagles who shot 41 percent for the game.
 
New Hope was led by Kenzie Weston’s 18 points while teammate Jess Logan dropped in 13 points before fouling out of the game. NU out rebounded NHCC 47-41.

"It was a good game for us today," said Ken Crawford, NU head coach. "New Hope Christian played very hard and had an excellent game plan for us. I was happy with the way we showed resilience and perseverence to come away with the victory."

NU remains on the road and will play their third game in five days away from home when they resume conference play tomorrow in Olympia taking on The Evergreen State College at 5:30 p.m.
