CC- How did you choose CU to continue your athletic and academic career?
CO- I Chose CU because I had a connection with the previous Head Coach/Sprint Coach as he coached at my North Salem High before and knew a few of the coaches that I had while I was there. He also had a very similar coaching style and philosophy as my coaches in HighSchool had. As far as the academic career it was a perfect fit for me because I really wanted to get involved with Exercise Science but at the same time work towards youth ministry as I want to become a Youth Pastor and CU offers both of these.
CC- What are some of the demands of being a student athlete?
CO- The biggest demand being a student athlete is defiantly the time commitment as well as being held to a very high standard seeming as we represent the school and are the face of the school when we travel.
CC- What are some of your best experiences so far, both academically and athletically at college?
CO- Athletically the best experience I have had so far is being able to compete at the NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field meet in all 3 of my events. 100m, 200m, 4x100. Academically my best experience has been in my Motor Learning class which involves a lot of hands on teaching instead of just reading out of a textbook, it is also very interesting to me as it pertains to my major.
CC- Who are some influential people in your life at CU?
CO- Carrie Kosderka-Farrell is very influential to my life at CU, she is one of the reasons why I am so involved with numerous things on campus including but not limited to, S.A.A.C. and F.C.A
CC- When not competing or studying what do you do for fun?
CO- (This is rare) But when I do I like to explore downtown Portland or relax and watch some of my favorite T.V. shows ( The Walking Dead) or movies!
CC- What do you hope to accomplish as a member of the CCC-SAAC?
CO- As a member of the CCC SAAC I plan to gain experience on how to organize large events and have good communication with other schools.
CC- What do you see yourself doing after graduation?
CO- After graduation I want to continue my Track and Field Career and work with F.C.A. Other things I could also see myself doing is going to Grad school for teaching and becoming a coach at a high school.
