Lady Yotes Atop Leaderboard After Day 1 in Nampa
NAMPA, Idaho – Led by a three-over par 75 from Natalie Mullins, the College of Idaho holds the overall lead after Day 1 of the C of I Invitational at Ridgecrest Golf Club.
The Lady Yotes carded a season best single-round team score of 315, four shots ahead of Rocky Mountain (319). Both Oregon Tech (326) and Corban (329) are still in the hunt, with Warner Pacific (387) in fifth.
C of I was paced by Mullins, the two-time Cascade Conference Player of the Week, sitting one shot behind overall leader Kyla Clancy of Rocky (74) – last week's winner at the Warner Pacific Invitational. The Yotes Lexi Oropeza and Corban's Carrie Wallace sit tied for third, four strokes off the pace, with Eryn Ellis of Rocky and C of I's Shaunel Fillmore tied for fifth at 7-over, five strokes back.
Janelle Ferlan leads the OIT contingent in seventh-place after an 8-over 80, tied with Great Falls' Gina Kowolchuk. Marissa Casanova (88) led Warner Pacific; Lauren Victorino (93) led Walla Walla CC; with Ivory Linger (129) pacing Multnomah.
Round 2 begins tomorrow at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
