Visiting College of Idaho hit .307 as a team and were tough at the net in defeating The Evergreen State College, 25-18, 25-16, 25-16, in a Cascade Collegiate Conference volleyball match played Saturday night at CRC Gymnasium.

The Coyotes (14-9 overall, 12-3 CCC) never hit less than a .296 percentage in any of the three sets in defeating the Geoducks (3-17, 3-12).

Evergreen, meanwhile, managed to hit .084 for the match with Natalie Taylor pacing all players with 11 kills, including six in the opening set. Kylie Kytan finished with 22 assists and both Kelsey Delagrange and Cheyenne Baird had eight digs.

College of Idaho setter Sierra Porter spread the ball around with 31 assists and there was plenty of balance in the hitting department for the 'Yotes, who got nine kills apiece from Randi Sturtz and Jackie van Vliet and seven each from Abbey Fenton and Katy Robinson. van Vliet was particularly impressive through the first two sets with eight kills and no errors on 12 attempts, and both Sturtz and Fenton had four kills apiece in the final set.

College of Idaho was also impressive on defense with nine team blocks, including two solo blocks and four block assists by Alaina Slater, and a match-best 10 digs by Kilee Lopez.

The Geoducks are on the road next weekend with matches against Northwest Christian on Friday and Corban on Saturday.
