2015 Tachikara NAIA Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 Poll - No. 7 (Oct. 20)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. –Biola reemerges as the No. 1 team in the seventh edition of the 2015 Tachikara - NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday. The eighth installment will be released on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
Top 25 Highlights (historical information dates back to 2000):
• Biola (Calif.) reclaims their No. 1 position this week with 581 points after dropping three spots last week. No. 2 Missouri Baptist was right behind with 579 points.
• The Great Plains Athletic Conference has the most schools appearing in the Top 25 Poll including: No. 6 Dordt (Iowa), No. 10 Midland (Neb.), No. 12 Northwestern (Iowa), No. 15 Concordia (Neb.) and No. 21 Hastings (Neb.)
• Midland dropped a poll-high eight spots this week from No. 2 to No. 10 after losing to than No. 13 Dordt and then No. 17 Concordia last week.
• Biola, which has been ranked among the top 10 in 48-consecutive polls, hold the longest active streak in the Top 25 at 118-straight. Columbia (Mo.) is next with 107-consecutive mentions.
• No. 17 Lourdes (Ohio) remains the only team to have an undefeated season (20-0) in the Top 25.
• Columbia (Mo.) makes their first appearance in the top 5 since Sept. 10, 2013 when they were ranked No. 3.
• Dordt (Iowa) made a significant jump this week, moving seven spots from No. 13 last week to No. 6.
• Only one program has been able to maintain the No. 1 ranking for an entire season, with Fresno Pacific (Calif.) accomplishing the feat in 2004, 2008 and 2009.
• No. 9 Park (Mo.) defeated then No. 1 Viterbo (Wis.) last week in three sets to help them jump seven spots in the Top 25 Poll.
• There are no new teams in the Top 25 Poll.
• No teams dropped out of the Top 25 Poll this week.
Poll Methodology
• The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and the Association of Independent Institutions.
• The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
• The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
• Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
