ASHLAND – Lauren Aldana's golden goal in the 97th minute marked the completion of Southern Oregon's 2-1 comeback win over Great Falls on Saturday night at Raider Stadium, sending four seniors out on a high note in their final home game.

Aldana was on the receiving end of Megan Smith's perfectly parachuted feed from just beyond midfield. The Raiders (8-8-2 overall, 7-4 Cascade Conference) had a two-on-one advantage when Aldana got the pass, and she took it herself with a touch and a dart from right of the box to the left end of the goal.

SOU has triumphed in two straight overtime games after going winless in their previous nine that required extra sessions.

Lisa Elledge's long pass from midfield to Kelsey Randall, who beat the keeper to to the ball and raced to an open net, gave the Raiders an equalizer in the 60th minute.

Alejandra Guzman had initially put the Argos up in the 10th minute on a header off Lauren Ozdowski's free kick.

UGF dipped to 5-4-5 overall and 2-4-4 in the circuit.

The Raiders, who had already clinched a playoff spot, will be off for 18 days before the CCC tournament and will learn their seed when the rest of the league concludes the regular season next weekend. They finished the CCC slate by winning seven of their last nine, putting themselves in position to finish either fifth or sixth in the league standings.

The goals were Randall's second of the season and Aldana's third. Elledge, whose nifty spin and crossover lost two defenders and put in her position to feed Randall, now has a team-high four assists, and Smith's assist was the first point of her career.

SOU had advantages of 20-5 in shots, 10-3 in shots on goal and 5-1 in corner kicks.

The Raiders will be making their sixth consecutive postseason appearance.
