SALEM, Ore. – In an almost instantly lopsided affair, the Corban University Volleyball team rode a solid .308 combined attack-percentage on the night to a three-set victory over Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) foe, Multnomah University, on Friday night (25-11, 25-18, 25-17).

"The girls came out on fire tonight," Warrior Head Coach Kim McLain said of her Warrior team. "It was good to get another win under our belts as we get ready to head off into the second half of conference play."

Multnomah jumped out ahead early, scoring the first point of the game on a kill by Hannah Anderson. That was the last lead they would hold for the remainder of the set, however, as Corban responded with six straight points en route to a 25-11 victory.

The second stanza played out a little differently than the first, with Multnomah coming back from deficits of 8-2, 10-4, and 13-9 to knot the game at 16. After a service error by Multnomah put the Warriors back on top, 17-16, Corban utilized five kills to tame the Lions, eventually rolling to a 25-18 set win.

Corban faced its biggest challenge of the day in the final act of Friday's performance, seeing itself trailing the Lions 9-7 midway through the third set. It was a minor setback for the Warriors, however, as they scored seven straight points to retake the lead for good at 14-9, ultimately cruising to a 25-17 set victory.

The Warriors were led offensively by sophomore outside-hitter Amber Parker (Albany, Ore.) with 17 kills and a .429 attack-percentage. Sophomore middle-blocker Sloane Morrison (Edmonds, Wash.) contributed six kills and a .500 attack-percentage, while junior Hannah Olson (Coos Bay, Ore.) and freshman Kinley Hickok (Anchorage, Alaska) each handed out five kills of their own. In addition, freshman setter Madison McLain (Albany, Ore.) added to her CCC-leading assist total, notching another 28 on the day.

On the defensive end, sophomore libero Haley Wells (Albany, Ore.) tallied 17 digs, while Parker collected 12. Hickok and Olson also recorded four kills apiece on the day.

Following the match, Morrison talked about the victory in a post-game interview.

For the Lions, Patricia Batoon racked up 10 kills, Kiana Miller had 11 digs, and Marissa Rhodes accumulated 15 assists on the day.

Stats of the day:

-The Warriors amassed five separate unanswered scoring streaks of five points or more throughout the match…

-Corban boasts a 4-1 record at home this season, compared to 3-7 mark on the road...

-The 10 service aces recorded is a season-high for the Warriors…

With their fifth CCC victory, the Warriors (7-8, 5-4 CCC) have the most conference wins since the 2011 season. With the loss, Multnomah falls to 1-9 (0-9 CCC).

Corban returns to action tomorrow at home against fellow CCC member Warner Pacific College. First serve is set for 5 p.m. inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
