KIRKLAND, Wash. - Armando Guevara's goal in the 87th minute lifted No. 9 Corban to a 2-1 conference victory over Northwest University this afternoon. On a wet and windy day on the NU pitch, Guevara found cross from teammate Mykenze Caswell in front of the goal mouth and chested the ball into the net with an NU defender on him.

The two teams had battled through a scoreless tie for 60 minutes after NU's goal came early in the 12th minute and Corban tied the game at 1-1 in the 27th minute.

Northwest U's (9-8, 7-5 CCC) Chris Iacolucci put the Eagles on top after teammate Odason Pelogi laid a nice pass to his feet on the right side, 15 yards out. Nic Farr then knotted the score at 26:23, as Quamie Dinnall's bullet came off the right post from the left and Farr finished from 15 yards out on the right side.

Jordan Farr earned the victory in goal form Corban (15-2, 10-2 CCC) with six saves for the Warriors while Daniel Mathiason, filling in for injured starter, Daniel Christenson made three saves in goal for Northwest U. Corban held a 16-13 edge on shooting with Guevara taking six shots for the Warriors (one on goal). Odason Pelogi ahd six shots, two on goal for Northwest U.

Here's what Coach McIntosh had to say after the game: "I was pleased with our overall play today against a ranked opponent like Corban. We moved the ball well and created numerous opportunities to score. Finding the back of the net was not easy. Tomorrow, we hope to finish the season on a win for our seniors."
