KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University broke the 100 point barrier in  their 105-53 win over the Northwest Indian College Eagles tonight in their 2015-16 home opener. 6-2 freshman, Miranda Langenhorst from Susanville, Calif., scored 26 points to lead NU in win.

NU put up 29 and 21 points in the first two quarter of the new collegiate format of four 10 minute periods and took a 50-27 lead at halftime. NU HIT 7-14 from the 3-point line for 50 percent shooting from the arc. The second half found the Eagles still sharing the ball and in transition as they outscored the Eagles from Bellingham 23-13 and 32-13 in the final two periods.
Paige Burson, Charmaine Bradford and Katie Rozumny all scored 10 points for Northwest U (2-0) and senior point guard, Jordan Asher handed out 10 assists. NU shot 49 percent for the night and 46 percent from beyond the 3-point line going 13 for 28. The NU Eagles totaled 36 assists for the night.
Northwest Indian was held to 29 percent shooting on the night and was led by Kyla Frajman’s 21 points and Jasmine Montgomery-Reid’s 18 points. Northwest U held a 56-35 edge on rebounding which included 20 offensive rebounds.

Eagle head coach, Ken Crawford was pleased with the young Eagles' performance, "Strong home opener for us tonight... I was pleased with the effort and the learning that was taking place. Now our goal is to continue to get better and improve in our skills and our efficiency."

NU will now rest and prepare for a road trip to the midwest and Sioux City, Iowa where they will play NAIA powerhouse Morningside, Dordt and Dakota State in three non-conference games on November 5, 6 and 7.
