LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon University men’s basketball team shot 52 percent (39-for-75) and owned a +18 margin on the glass en route to a dominant 93-39 triumph over Langara College in an exhibition contest on Saturday night.
“It was a great all-around effort tonight,” said head men’s basketball coach Jared Barrett. “We continued to share the ball and play very unselfishly.”

The Storyline

The Mountaineers extended their advantage to 26 (37-11) after back-to-back three-pointers by Bakalarski and Rada, and EOU scored six points in the final 76 seconds of the half to enjoy a commanding 48-16 lead into the locker room.
The Navy and Gold didn’t show any signs of slowing down in the second half, as de Laveaga floated an alley-oop pass to sophomore forward Brandon Hoston for the slam to notch EOU’s first bucket of the second stanza.
With 2:41 remaining in the game, EOU snatched its largest lead (93-37) of the night after Bakalarski’s layup, and the Mountaineers rode to an easy 93-39 win over the Falcons.
EOU dished out 26 assists, the squad’s best effort since Nov. 9, 2013. The Navy and Gold pounded Langara on the glass, 53-35, and the Mountaineers also registered 11 blocks.
