Knights Knock Off Owls 1-0
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Mario Guizar scored the only goal of the game with just one minute
and twenty four seconds left in the game to lift Warner Pacific to a 1-0 win over Oregon Tech
at Trevor Derrah Field. The Knights improve to 3-2-1 in Cascade Conference play and 5-5-1
on the season with the win, Oregon Tech slips to 4-4-0 in CCC play and 6-6-0 on the year with
the loss.
The game was controlled more by the wind than anything else as Trevor Derrah Field
experienced steady winds at 15-20 mph with gusts reaching 35-40 mph.
The game looked to be headed to overtime before Guizar took a Johannes Reiber long pass
and scored from 20 yards out a chip shot that just went out of the reach of the OIT keepers
hands for the game winner.
Tech held a slight edge in shots 15-13 but had twice as many shots on goal with an 8-4
advantage.
Joe White was stellar for Warner Pacific picking up the shutout win with 8 saves on the night.
Oregon Tech will travel to Washington with games at Evergreen State and Northwest next
Friday and Saturday.
