PORTLAND, Ore. - Warner Pacific avenged an earlier loss to George Fox with a three-set sweep of the Bruins tonight at C.C. Perry Gym in a non-conference encounter.

The Basics

• Score: Warner Pacific 3, George Fox 0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-19)
• Records: WPC (5-9), GFU (4-10)
• Location: C.C. Perry Gym, Portland, Ore.
• The Short Story: Goerge Fox handed the Knights a four set loss in Newberg several weeks ago, but it was WPC that came out on top this time in a 3-0 sweep. The Knights put down 45 kills compared to just 22 for the visitors thanks to a defense that dug up 49 Bruin attacks. That was more than enough to overcome eight total blocks by George Fox at the net.

How it Happened

• The Bruins got off to a great start in the first set, taking a 6-2 lead early on, but the Knights battled back and tied the set at 9-9.
Julia Toscano served the Knights to five straight points to take a 15-12 lead that would not be relinquished.
• GFU did cut the advantage down to 21-20, but kills from Alyssa Neal and Grace Rivers gave the set to the home team.

• A quick three points from the Knights started set two, but three straight hitting errors allowed the Bruins to take an 11-10 lead.
• Another run of five points allowed WPC to move ahead, this time behind the serving of Brandy Velasquez.
• Two big kills from Nicole Kincaide late in the frame pushed WP to the set victory.
• WP methodically built a 17-8 lead in set three, only to see the Bruins fight back to get within 20-17 after a kill by Danyl Dupray.
• Two ball handling errors by GFU stalled the comeback, and a kill from Nicole Lisoski sealed the match.
