Carroll Earns First Seed in 2015 CCC Women's Soccer Championship Presented by U.S. Bank
LA GRANDE, Ore. – Entering their first season as members of the Cascade Collegiate Conference, the Fighting Saints of Carroll College have clinched a regular season title and the top seed in the 2015 CCC Women’s Soccer Championship presented by U.S. Bank, which is set to begin Wednesday, Nov. 11.
With the addition of three new teams in the conference, the CCC postseason tournament expands from six team to eight.
Carroll finished the year 12-5-1 overall, going 9-1-1 in conference play to earn the number one seed. Along with the regular season championship, the Saints will received the first of two automatic qualifiers to the NAIA National Tournament.
College of Idaho earned the second seed in the conference tournament, finishing the 2015 campaign 13-3 overall and 9-2 in the CCC. Rounding out the top four of the seeding are Eastern Oregon (14-2, 8-2 CCC) and CCC newcomer Rocky Mountain who finished 10-5-2, 7-3-1 CCC.
Southern Oregon earned the fifth seed followed by Northwest at sixth and Corban at seventh. University of Great Falls earned the final spot in the tournament, holding the tiebreaker over Oregon Tech, allowing only 16 goals compared to OIT’s 18.
The tournament will begin Wednesday, Nov 11, at Willamalane in Springfield, Ore., and will be hosted by Northwest Christian.
