KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) steals the top spot in the final edition of the 2015 Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Monday.  The postseason installment will be released on Wednesday, December 9.

Top 25 Highlights (historical information dates back to 2000):
• No. 1 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) finishes out the regular season with their first-ever No. 1 ranking in school history with 13 of the possible 20 first-place votes and 545 total points.  Coming in second is Viterbo (Wis.) with 534 points.
• The Great Plains Athletic Conference has the most schools appearing in the Top 25 Poll including: No. 7 Midland (Neb.), No. 9 Hastings (Neb.), No. 14 Dordt (Iowa), No. 16 Concordia (Neb.) and No. 21 Northwestern (Iowa).
• After winning their conference tournament, College of Idaho sees a significant jump in the poll, ranking last week at No. 25 to this week at No. 15.
• Twenty-three out of the 25 teams in the Top 25 Poll have made it through the regular season with nine losses-or-less, including unbeaten No. 17 Lourdes (Ohio) and No. 24 Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) with one loss on the season.
• MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) climbs six spots in the Top 25 Poll after clinching the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament championship on Saturday, Nov. 14 in a hard fought three-set match against then-No. 16 Evangel (Mo.).
• Biola (Calif.), which has been ranked among the top 10 in 52-consecutive polls, holds the longest active streak in the Top 25 at 122-straight. Columbia (Mo.) is next with 111-consecutive mentions.
• No. 17 Lourdes continues their perfect season after winning the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament Saturday against No. 23 Madonna (Mich.).  The Gray Wolves will continue into postseason with a 31-0 record.
• Through 12 polls this season, four teams have been ranked No. 1 including: Park (Mo.), Biola, Viterbo and Missouri Baptist.
• Only one program has been able to maintain the No. 1 ranking for an entire season, with Fresno Pacific (Calif.) accomplishing the feat in 2004, 2008 and 2009.
• Missouri Baptist is the only team this season to consistently be ranked in the top 3 for the entire season.
• After a long season of getting close to the Top 25, Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) finally makes it into the poll at No. 24.  The Cougars won their conference tournament championship against Indiana Wesleyan in four sets.
• Indiana Wesleyan falls short of the Top 25 this week.

Poll Methodology
• The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and the Association of Independent Institutions.
• The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
• The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
• Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
