KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri Baptist claims top spot in this edition of the 2015 Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Tuesday.  The tenth installment will be released on Tuesday, Nov. 10.

Top 25 Highlights (historical information dates back to 2000):
• No. 1 Missouri Baptist reaches the top spot for the first time in school history receiving 19 of the 20 first place points possible.  Right behind is Lindsey Wilson (Ky.).
• The Great Plains Athletic Conference has the most schools appearing in the Top 25 Poll including: No. 7 Dordt (Iowa), No. 10 Midland (Neb.), No. 17 Northwestern (Iowa), No. 20 Concordia (Neb.) and No. 15 Hastings (Neb.)
• Previous No. 1 Biola (Calif.) falls six spots this week after losing to then-No. 17 Westmont in four sets.
• Unranked Montana Western upsets then-No. 5 Rocky Mountain (Mont.) last week in a hard-fought five-set match. Rocky Mountain is now ranked No. 9.
• Biola, which has been ranked among the top 10 in 50-consecutive polls, holds the longest active streak in the Top 25 at 120-straight. Columbia (Mo.) is next with 109-consecutive mentions.
• No. 18 Lourdes (Ohio) still remains the only team to have an undefeated season (25-0) in the Top 25.
• Only one program has been able to maintain the No. 1 ranking for an entire season, with Fresno Pacific (Calif.) accomplishing the feat in 2004, 2008 and 2009.
• No. 25 College of Idaho sees Top 25 action this week after not being ranked since pre-season.
• The only team to fall out of the Top 25 this week is Wayland Baptist (Texas).
Poll Methodology
• The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and the Association of Independent Institutions.
• The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
• The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed and the team’s ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
• Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered “receiving votes”
