Eastern Oregon Earns First Seed In 2015 CCC Volleyball Tournament
LA GRANDE, Ore. – With the final matches of the volleyball season complete, the Mountaineers of Eastern Oregon have claimed the top spot in the 2015 Cascade Collegiate Conference Volleyball Tournament presented by U.S. Bank, which is slated to begin Tuesday, Nov. 10.
Finishing the year with a 23-3 overall record, going 18-2 in conference play, Eastern Oregon claims the regular season title and a first round bye in the tournament. Eastern will also be the hosting site for the final two rounds of the tournament.
Claiming the second first round bye in the conference tournament is Southern Oregon, who comes in as the number two seed. The Raiders (24-3, 17-3 CCC) needed one final win tonight against Corban in order to clinch the second spot.
Coming in as the third seed in the tournament is the College of Idaho (17-10, 15-4 CCC) and will be one of two teams to host a quarterfinals match. Earning the fourth seed and hosting the second quarterfinal’s match is Northwest with a conference record of 19-9, 14-6 CCC.
Finishing out the final two seeds of the conference tournament are Corban as the fifth seed and Oregon Tech in sixth.
Quarterfinals begin on Tuesday, Nov. 10 with C of I hosting Oregon Tech at 7 p.m. MST, and Northwest hosting Corban at 7 p.m. PST.
Both quarterfinal winners will meet in La Grande, Ore., with the lowest seed facing Eastern Oregon and the other playing against Southern Oregon on Friday, Nov. 13.
The winner of the CCC postseason tournament will claim an automatic qualifier to the NAIA National Tournament.
