NAMPA, Idaho - Anthony Johnson won two events and achieved NAIA national indoor meet qualifying standards in a total of three at the Jacksons Open track & field meet held Saturday at Ford Idaho Center's Jacksons Track.

Johnson, a senior from Seattle, qualified for the indoor national meet in the high jump, long jump and triple jump. He won the high jump with a leap of 2.14 meters, or 7-0 1/4, and was victorious in the long jump with a mark of 7.10 meters, 23-3 1/4. Competing for the first time in the triple jump, Johnson got off a leap of 14.45 meters, or 47-5, to place second.

Though it is still early in the season, Johnson's performances push him to the top of the NAIA qualifying list in the high jump and to third in both of the horizontal jumps.

Johnson wasn't the only Evergreen athlete to record solid performances on Saturday.

On the men's side, Steven Pressley clocked 7.37 seconds in the 60-meter dash, missing the final by one spot. Later in the meet he placed 18th in the 200 with a time of 24.02. William Rhodes finished 16th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.50, and he his leap of 1.94 meters, 6-4 1/4, earned him fourth place in the high jump.

Wes Jones and twin brother Les Jones both showed good early season form, Wes placing third in the 800 in a time of 1:56.64, and Les placing second in the mile in 4:32.55.

Camille Christenson represented Evergreen in the women's events. She hit the tap in 8.46 to place 16th in the 60-meter dash and came back to place 18th in the 200 with a time of 28.72.

The Geoducks return to action on Jan. 16, 2016, at the UW Indoor Preview held at Dempsey Center on the University of Washington campus in Seattle.
