Six CCC Schools Listed in latest Learfield Cup Standings

CLEVELAND – In the second set of fall Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings,
Columbia (MO) has jumped from 34
th to second with a total of 248 points (1
st in women’s volleyball, 5
th in men’s soccer and 17
th in women’s soccer),
Indiana Wesleyan currently is in third with 218 points (5
th in men’s soccer),
College of Idaho is in fourth with 206.50 points (9
th in women’s volleyball) and
Lindsey Wilson concludes the top 5 with 198 points (2
nd in women’s soccer, 3
rd in women’s volleyball and 9
th in men’s soccer).
In addition to College of Idaho in 4th, the CCC has five other schools in the rankings including; Southern Oregon (12th), Northwest Christian (15th), Eastern Oregon (47th), Oregon Tech (61st) and Corban (81st).
The Golden State Athletic Conference leads all NAIA conferences in the top 10 with three institutions –
Biola (1
st),
Westmont (6
th) and
Vanguard (tied 7
th).
The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and
USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports in Division I – 10 men’s and 10 women’s; and 12 sports in the NAIA – six women’s and six men’s.
The next NAIA fall standings will be released Wednesday, December 24.
