EOU's Morehead Named Region Coach of the Year
LA GRANDE, Ore. – 'Coach of the Year' didn't stop at the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) for
Kaki McLean Morehead. On Monday morning, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced that Morehead collected Northwest Regional Coach of the Year honors after she led the Eastern Oregon University volleyball team to a record-breaking season.
In her ninth year at the helm of the Mountaineers, Morehead directed the squad to its first-ever outright CCC regular season title. In addition, she coached the Navy and Gold to its second-consecutive trip to the NAIA Volleyball National Championship.
The Mountaineers finished the 2015 campaign with a 25-6 record overall and an 18-2 mark in CCC play. On Nov. 15, she was named the CCC Coach of the Year as well.
