KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Corban knocked down 57 percent of their shots, including a 9-of-15 effort from long range, to post a 78-59 win over Oregon Tech in Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s basketball action tonight at Danny Miles Court.

Oregon Tech falls to 13-10 overall and 6-7 in CCC action.  Corban improved to 12-10 on the season and 5-8 in conference play.

After eight lead changes, all before a 16-16 tie, Corban moved up 21-16 at the midway point of the opening period. 

A Kyle Waits jumper stopped CU’s 5-0 run, but a Jordan Carter trey followed by another from Taylor Fox with 7:53 remaining in the first half gave the Warriors their largest lead at 27-20.

A pair of Lavar Moore free throws capped 7-2 run for the Owls, closing the deficit to just two at 29-27 with 6:10 on the clock.

Back-to-back Cody Crowe treys from CU bumped the visitors lead to eight, 35-27, with under four minutes to go.  CU held the same eight point margin with 1:44, and when neither team scored for the remainder, the Warriors took a 41-33 edge into intermission thanks to a 54 percent effort from the floor, including 8-of-11 from long range.

Coming out of halftime Josh Johnson connected from long range to close the gap to 41-36, but six-straight by CU made it a double-digit game with the Warriors in control at 47-36.

Johnson’s jumper at the 10 minute mark made it 49-40, but after AJ Monterossi knocked down a shot on Corban’s next possession the Warriors held a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.

Corban led by as many as 21 points winning by a 78-59 final.

Brandon Bautista led three Owls in double-figures with a team-high 12 points and five assists.  Austen Flint and Josh Johnson added 10 points each.  Johnson and Sherman Simpson grabbed seven rebounds each.

Jordan Carter netted a game-high 21 points with Cyrus Ward chipping in 19 in the win.   The duo combined for 15 rebounds with AJ Monterossi rounding out CU’s double-digit scorers with 10 points.
