Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period of March 9 – 15.
Beau Kerns
Baseball – Pitcher
Lewis-Clark State’s Beau Kerns has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Kerns, a senior pitcher from Lewiston, Idaho, was scheduled to throw only five innings against Oregon Tech and he breezed through the assignment, striking out five and allowing just two hits.
The outing lifted his record to 5-0 and dropped his team-leading ERA to 1.12 in five appearances and 40 innings.

Nic Coffman
Baseball
Corban’s Nic Coffman has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
Coffman, a junior utility player from Portland, Ore., racked up 8 hits over the weekend in Idaho and he blasted two homeruns to tally 6 RBIs.
Additionally, Coffman pitched six innings in Corban's game-four win over C of I, striking out six batters while giving up just three hits and two runs - only two of which were earned.

Jared Lambert
Men’s Golf
Corban’s Jared Lambert has been named the Red Lion Men’s Golf Player of the Week.
Lambert, a senior from Redmond, Ore., earned a second-place individual finish and led the Corban Golf team to a 2nd-place finish as a team, only behind the University of Victoria.
The Warriors surged past Concordia on the final day to finish as the top CCC men's team at the event, finishing two strokes in front of the Cavaliers. For Corban, it was the program's first-ever tournament victory over Concordia's "A" team. Lambert notched a three-round mark of one-under par in the impressive performance.

Tyler Callahan
Men’s Outdoor Field
Concordia’s Tyler Callahan has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Callahan, a senior from Estacada, Ore., the fourth-place finisher in the javelin at the NAIA Outdoor Championships last season, popped a 207-8 (63.28m) mark in his season debut last Saturday for the top mark in the NAIA.
Callahan’s debut throw landed just eight feet shy of his season best from a year ago and currently tops the NAIA performance list by more than 17 feet.

Michael Trofimchik
Men’s Outdoor Track
Corban’s Michael Trofimchik has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Trofimchik, a sophomore from Salem, Ore., registered a pair of first-place finishes with the Corban Relay teams over the weekend, while also competing well in the 100 Meters and 200 Meters, notching top-five marks.

Jessica Holsinger
Softball - Pitcher
Corban’s Jessica Holsinger has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Holsinger, a junior pitcher from Eagle, Idaho, registered a complete-game shutout vs. C of I, allowing just two hits and striking out six in the win.

Tara Moates
Softball
Oregon Tech’s Tara Moates has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
Moates, a freshman shortstop from Klamath Falls, Ore., got the No. 17 ranked Owls off to a great start in Cascade Conference play, talling five hits and seven RBI in a doubleheader sweep at No. 15 Concordia University.
Moates’ three-run blast in the eighth inning of game 1 helped preserve a 9-8 win in the opener. Moates drove in six runs on three hits, including a double and two homeruns, in the opener.
Moates' two hits in the nightcap, including another double, contributed to her seventh RBI of the afternoon and an 8-4 win to sweep the series over the Cavaliers.

Kelsey Whiles
Women’s Golf
Concordia’s Kelsey Whiles has been named the Red Lion Women’s Golf Player of the Week.
Whiles, a sophomore from Hockinson, Wash., placed second overall to help lead No. 18-ranked Concordia to a tournament win by five strokes over No. 21-ranked University of Victoria last week at the Corban Spring Invite.

Sarah Taylor
Women’s Outdoor Field
Corban’s Sarah Taylor has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Taylor, a junior from Bend, Ore., tied for first place in the High Jump, clearing the bar at 1.58 Meters.

Amelia Maguin
Women’s Outdoor Track
Southern Oregon’s Amelia Maguin has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the week.
Maguin, a senior from Fernley, Nev., hit the NAIA 'A' standard by winning the 400-meter hurdles Saturday, and had the strongest leg in SOU's second-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.
