The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period of February 23 – March 1.

Austin Hadley
Baseball – Pitcher
Concordia’s Austin Hadley has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Hadley, a junior pitcher from Vancouver, Wash., pitched a 7-inning complete game on Sunday against NCAA DII Northwest Nazarene.
 
The right hander struck out 10 batters while surrendering just four hits and one walk.

Mitch Viydo
Baseball
College of Idaho’s Mitch Viydo has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
 
Viydo, a senior pitcher from Bothell, Wash., had a monster weekend as C of I won their first four games at the Tucson Invitational Games. He recorded multi-hit games and had at least one RBI in each game.
 
He finished the weekend with 10 hits and seven RBIs and six runs.

Bryan McGriff
Men’s Basketball
Eastern Oregon’s Bryan McGriff has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
McGriff, a junior forward from Las Vegas, Nev., hit the game winning layup to beat Concordia in the CCC Quarterfinals. On Saturday, he scored a game-high 31 points. He also collected two double-doubles on the week.

Emily Buhrkuhl
Softball - Pitcher
Corban’s Emily Buhrkuhl has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Buhrkuhl, junior pitcher from Stockton, Calif., led the Warriors with a 2-1 record on the week, helping Corban capture the consolation championship at the NFCA Leadoff Classic. While pitching two complete games, she brought her season ERA down to 2.42 with a 7-1 record.

Cassie Wendt
Softball
Eastern Oregon’s Cassie Wendt has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
 
Wendt, a senior outfielder from Spokane, Wash., hit .593 for the week and nine of her 16 hits were for extra bases. She hit six doubles and three home runs. Her biggest home run of the weekend game against MSU-Billings, where she hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh putting EOU ahead in a game they won, 8-7. She tallied 16 RBIs on the weekend.
 
She currently has 24 RBIs on the season, where all of 2014 season she collected 28 RBIs. Wendt has hit safely in every game for the Mountaineers this season.

Megan Whetstone
Women’s Basketball
Oregon Tech’s Megan Whetstone has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Whetstone, a junior forward from Highlands Ranch, Colo., had a career high in points and rebounds leading the lady Owls to the upset win over No. 8 Southern Oregon on the road in the CCC Semi-Finals.
