The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period of March 23–29.

Austin Guzzon
Baseball – Pitcher
Corban’s Austin Guzzon has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Guzzon, a senior pitcher from Oceanside, Calif., led Corban to a series-opening 4-1 win on Friday, hurling a complete-game five-hitter against Concordia while allowing just one run and striking out nine Cavalier batters.
 
Guzzon's ERA for the season now sits at 2.56.

Bruce Yari
Baseball
British Columbia’s Bruce Yari has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
 
Yari, a junior first baseman from Waterloo, Ont., had a monster offensive weekend against the Oregon Tech Hustlin' Owls going 11-for-19 at the plate for a .579 average over four games, including three doubles. Yari hit three home runs and drove in 10 runs overall. He also scored eight runs. Yari's performance helped UBC to a sweep of the NAIA West Grouping series.
 
His batting average for the season rose to a team-best .418 by the end of the weekend.

Kolton Kyne
Men’s Golf
Concordia’s Kolton Kyne has been named the Red Lion Men’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Kyne, a junior from Ridgway, Colo., in a field with 11 ranked teams, placed fourth overall at the Battle at Primm last week by firing a career-best 6-under 210.

Justin Ramirez
Men’s Outdoor Field
Concordia’s Justin Ramirez has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Ramirez, a senior from San Luis Obispo, Calif., hit NAIA 'A' qualifiers in both the hammer and the shot last week.
 
Ramirez, in just his second year ever in the sport after formerly playing on CU's basketball team, now holds the No. 3 mark in the NAIA in both events.

Isaac Updike
Men’s Outdoor Track
Eastern Oregon’s Isaac Updike has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Updike, a senior from Ketchikan, Alaska, hit the NAIA "A" standard in the 5,000 meter run at the Willamette Invite. He ran a time of 14:17.28, which placed him second.
 
His time was an EOU school record in the 5,000 meter run. Updike has the fastest time in the NAIA this season in the 5,000 meter run.

Lucy Baldovino
Softball - Pitcher
Concordia’s Lucy Baldovino has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Baldovino, a senior pitcher from Medford, Ore., went 3-0 this weekend including pitching a 6-inning no hitter against NCU on Saturday that included nine strikeouts. Only one NCU runner reached base as Baldovino did not issue a walk in the outing.
 
After an error broke up the perfect game, Baldovino forced a ground out double-play to face the minimum number of batters. Prior to the no hitter, Baldoviino struck out nine in a 3-2 win against No. 25 Corban.

McKenzie Shrum
Softball
Oregon Tech’s McKenzie Shrum has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
 
Shrum, a junior outfielder from Glide, Ore., is on a 15 game hitting streak, hitting .628 in Conference and has reached base safely in the last 24 games.
 
She had three 3-RBI games this last week with four home runs.

Abby Brennan
Women’s Golf
Concordia’s Abby Brennan has been named the Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Brennan, a sophomore from Eugene, Ore., led CU in a field featuring seven teams ranked inside the NAIA's top 25 with a 20th-palce finish at the Battle at Primm

Jessica Mattos
Women’s Outdoor Field
Concordia’s Jessica Mattos has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Mattos, a senior from Corralitos, Calif., registered the NAIA's No. 1 throw in the discus with a 156-4 (47.65m) toss to win the event at the Willamette Invite. Mattos returned to hit the No. 6 mark in the hammer throw.

Megan Sullivan
Women’s Outdoor Track
Eastern Oregon’s Megan Sullivan has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the week.
 
Sullivan, a junior from Grangeville, Idaho, finished second in both of her races at the Willamette Invite this past weekend.
 
In the 400 meter run, she ran the fifth fastest time on EOU's All-Time list, in the 400 meter run.
