SPINGFIELD, Ore. - The Concordia University women's golf team wrapped up another regular season tournament championship on Tuesday, claiming victory at the NCU Invitational, taking place at Springfield Golf Club. The Cavaliers won by 71 shots.
Concordia closed out the event with a tournament-best 316 on Tuesday, bringing their three-round total to 952. CU easily outdistanced second-place College of Idaho, shooting a 1023. Corban University was third (1053), narrowly topping Oregon Tech by five strokes. Warner Pacific was fifth.
Brooke Spencer held on to her day-one lead to claim the individual championship by six strokes, finishing the event with a 71-80-78--229. Oregon Tech's Janelle Ferland and a Concordia duo of Abby Brennan and Kelsey Whiles all tied for second-place, shooting 235. CU's Lynsie Furuya and Patricia Little were next, tied for fifth place with a 243.
Next up for all the CCC teams will be the conference championship tournament, hosted by Warner Pacific College at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course next Monday and Tuesday, April 21-22.
