Concordia Captures Men’s and Women’s Regular Season Titles

LA GRANDE, Ore. – After 12 rounds of play, the Concordia men’s and women’s golf teams have finished on top of the Cascade Collegiate conference standings to earn the 2014-15 regular season titles.
 
For the men, the Cavaliers captured their eighth straight regular season title totaling 3,493 strokes throughout the four conference tournaments.
 
Corban finished the regular season in second place with 3,544 strokes, led by freshman Kade Crossland who currently leads the CCC in stroke average at 70.3 strokes.
 
Oregon Tech ended the season on a high note earning their first win at the Northwest Christian Invite but finished in third place with 3,619 strokes followed by Warner Pacific at 3,765 strokes.
 
On the women’s side, this is also the eighth straight regular season title for Concordia as they finished a season sweep winning all four CCC tournaments ending with a stroke total of 3,823, nearly 300 strokes ahead of second place.
 
Concordia’s Abby Brennan is the current CCC leader in stroke average at 79.6 followed closely by teammate Kelsey Whiles at 79.9.
 
Finishing up the CCC results are College of Idaho in second with 4,120 strokes followed by Oregon Tech at 4,390 strokes.
 
Teams will turn their focus to the CCC Championship Tournament held at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course in North Plaina, Ore., on Apr. 20-21. The school with the lowest team stroke total earns an automatic bid to the NAIA National tournament.
