KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oregon Tech has been awarded one of 10 host sites for the 2015 NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round.

The Lady Owls will play host to the four-team tournament, May 11-13, with the champion advancing to the 35th annual NAIA Softball World Series in Sioux City, Iowa from May 22 – 28.

Oregon Tech, who earns an automatic berth to the NAIA National Championship, will make their fourth appearance at the Nationals in the last five years – including winning the National Championship in 2011 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

“This is an exciting opportunity for our team, our school, and the city of Klamath Falls,” said Oregon Tech head coach Greg Stewart. “I am very proud of this group of young ladies as receiving this host birth is largely a direct result of how they have performed.”

The hosts include: Auburn University at Montgomery (Ala.), Central Methodist University (Mo.), Concordia University (Calif.), Lindsey Wilson College (Ky.), Louisiana State University Alexandria, Oklahoma City University, Oregon Tech, St. Gregory's University (Okla.), University of South Carolina Beaufort and William Carey University (Miss.). Each of these host schools are guaranteed at least an at-large host berth in the National Championship Opening Round.

It is the third-straight year that a Cascade Conference team has hosted an Opening Round site, as Concordia University was selected a host in 2013 and last year The College of Idaho hosted in Caldwell, Idaho.
