NORTH PLAINS, Ore.—Posting a single-round record 282 in the opening round, No. 16-ranked Concordia established a 32-stroke lead over the field through 36 holes at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Championship presented by U.S. Bank on Monday.

After the record setting first round, Concordia (282-295–577) returned with a 295 in the second round of the event, hosted by Warner Pacific at Pumpkin Ridge's GhostCreek. The Cavaliers held the previous single-round record by firing a 286 at the 2011 championships. The round was also just four strokes shy of the overall CCC single-round record with CU recording 278s on three occasions since the league started to sponsor the sport in 2007-08.

No. 24-ranked Corban (303-306–609) will lead the chase pack heading into Tuesday's third and final round. The Warriors hold a four-stroke gap over Oregon Tech (304-309—613) and Warner Pacific (306-307—613). College of Idaho (320-329—649) rounds out the team scoring.

Concordia golfers hold the top three positions in the individual standings with Ryan Melnychuk (67-74—141) using a tournament-low 4-under 67 in the morning round to edge teammate Kolton Kyne (71-71—142) for the top spot. Dylan Cramer (72-73—145) finished the first day in third place, four stokes back of the lead.

Corban's Jared Lambert (74-72–146) and College of Idaho's Alex Day (72-74–146) shared fourth place with 18 holes to play.

The host Knights from Warner Pacific landed two individuals in the top 10 with Royce Rosenthal (73-75–148) and Jeremie Eloy (77-75–152) closing out the day in sixth and ninth, respectively.

Oregon Tech, meanwhile, was led by Tyler Swinton (73-76—149) in seventh place while Sam Mar led northwest Christian (88-74—162) in the 20th position.

The team with the lowest team stroke total at the end of the tournament and the individual medalist will earn an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships which is slated for May 19-22 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
