Stockton Taylor tallied seven RBI and Nic Coffman four in a double header sweep over Oregon Tech.
Corban Sweeps by Oregon Tech with a Pair of 10-1 Wins
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –Corban University plated 10 unanswered runs and Austin Guzzon scattered seven hits in the opener, while the Warriors blasted four homers in game 2 and Caleb Henry went the distance, sweeping Oregon Tech 10-1, 10-1, today in NAIA West action at Kiger Stadium.
Oregon Tech fell to 12-23 overall and 3-11 in NAIA West play. The Owls head to Salem Saturday to conclude the four-game series with the Warriors.
Corban ran their overall record to 19-19 and sit at 7-7 in conference play.
Game 1 - Oregon Tech struck first when Alex Antonaras singled home Loren Cutolo, who earlier walked in the third inning. It was the last run Guzzon surrendered to Tech. The lefty tossed a complete-game, allowing one run on seven hits while striking out five to improve to 3-2 on the mound.
Corban’s three-run fifth inning was enough run support to earn the win. Connor Munro doubled in a run with Ryan Rosas adding a RBI single moving the Warriors up 3-1.

Nic Coffman drove in two more runs on a double in the seventh with Taylor plating two more on a single pushing CU out to a 10-1 lead. The game would end by the same score.
Ethan Schlecht tallied two hits for the Owls with Antonaras plating Tech’s only run.
Taylor homered with Marc Gallegos adding two doubles and Coffman and Connor Munro doubling in CU’s 15-hit attack. Taylor drove in five runs in the opener.
Game 2- Coffman started things out for CU, connecting on a two-run homerun in the opening inning. It would be enough run support for starter Caleb Henry. Henry went the distance, allowing just one run on six hits to go with six strikeouts improving to 5-1 on the season.
Corban would add single runs in the third and fourth innings moving up 4-0.
A two out triple by Tyson Dahl in the bottom of the seventh plated Tech’s only run of the game, scoring Matthew Moorehead who singled earlier in the inning.
Taylor and Coffman hit back-to-back homers in the eighth, Taylor’s two-run blast, pushing the Warriors out to a 7-1 advantage. Braden Wolgamott, in a pinch-hit role, hit the first pitch he saw over the left field wall to cap the CU scoring in the ninth. His three-run homer made it 10-1.
Dylan Rogers recorded two hits in the nightcap, including a double. Dahl tripled in the Owls’ only run.
CU recorded 14 hits with five going for extra bases in game 2.
