Red Lion Players of the Week Announced

The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period of May 4-10.

Travis Simpson
Men’s Outdoor Field
Eastern Oregon’s Travis Simpson has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Simpson, a senior from Redmond, Ore., earned field athlete of meet at the Cascade Conference Track and Field Championships.
 
Simson earned two conference titles in the high jump and the triple jump while finishing fourth in the long jump.

Ryan Rosenau
Men’s Outdoor Track
Eastern Oregon’s Ryan Rosenau has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Rosenau, a junior from Cashmere Wash., earned track athlete of the meet at the Cascade Championships in Ashland, Ore. over the weekend.
 
Rosenau helped his team earn a conference championship by finishing first the decathlon and second in both the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles.

Tiana Thomas
College of Idaho’s Tiana Thomas has been named the Co-Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Thomas, a junior from Middleton, Idaho, also earned athlete of the meet honors as her team won their third straight title. Thomas won the heptathlon and finished second in the 100-meter hurdles and third in the 400-meter hurdles.

McKenzie Warren
Concordia’s McKenzie Warren has been named the Co-Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Warren, a junior from Boring, Ore., was named co-athlete of the meet at the Cascade Conference Championships. Warren earned two titles on the weekend in the discus and the hammer throw.

Amelia Maguin
Women’s Outdoor Track
Southern Oregon’s Amelia Maguin has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the week.
 
Maguin, a senior from Fernley, Nev., earned Cascade Conference Championships track athlete of the meet after winning her third consecutive 400-meter hurdles, won the 100-meter hurdles title, and finished second in the 200-meter.
