In its second straight elimination game as the tournament's lowest-seeded team, College of Idaho extended its season with a 5-3 win over Corban, completing the second day of action at the NAIA West Grouping Tournament on Saturday.

With the win, No. 5-seeded College of Idaho (33-25) will move on to play top-seeded Concordia on Sunday with a 12 p.m. scheduled start time at Porter Park. Corban, the No. 4 seed in the tourney, opened the day with a 13-inning win, but will end its season with a 27-29 overall record following the evening loss.

College of Idaho opened the game with a single run in the top of the first as Cole Mansanarez drove home Jordan Grubbs with a two-out double to right after the fly was lost in the sun by the Corban outfielder.

Corban battled back to take the lead with a 2-run third inning only to see the lead evaporate in the fifth with a 2-run shot to right field by C of I's No. 9-hitter Brady Mooney.

The Coyotes added insurance runs in the seventh and eighth innings with Chase Miller and Seth Champlin collecting RBI hits.

Lasting 5 2/3, Caleb Henry (6-2) took the loss for Corban. Henry struck out six and walked three while being charged with three earned runs. Both teams finished with 10 hits.

Game 5: #2 Concordia British Columbia def. #1 Concordia, 6-2

British Columbia, the defending champions of the tournament, will head to the championship game that will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Moving to the elimination side of the bracket, Concordia will look to advance for a rematch with the Thunderbirds and will play the opening game on Sunday against either No. 3-seeded Menlo or No. 4-seeded Corban.

Concordia's game against either the Oaks or the Warriors will begin at noon with the winner facing UBC in the championship round.

Webb retired 11 straight batters through the middle innings before UBC scored three runs in the 5th to take the initial lead. Closing out the final two frames, Curtis Taylor picked up his 11th save of the season.
