Portland, Ore.- Multnomah University is pleased to announce the addition of Jacob Coburn as the new Sports Information Director (SID). Coburn will be taking over for current SID, Tim Bieri, who will be moving into the role of Assistant Athletics Director and will also continue in his leadership of the Women's Basketball program.

Coburn recently graduated from Southern Oregon University, earning a degree in Communications with an emphasis in convergent media. During his time there, he spent four years working in the sports information office assisting in statistics, managing SOU's pay-per view broadcasts, and other game day needs. In addition to his responsibilities at SOU, Coburn currently serves as the Communications/Media Coordinator of the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

In 2013 he spent his summer as a public relations intern for the Medford Rogues, a collegiate wood bat baseball team in the West Coast League, where he was responsible for writing press releases, stating and creating game day notes for the public.

"I'm very excited for the opportunity to become part of MU and to help further the success this athletic department has already achieved," said Coburn. "I'm looking forward to continuing to work in the Cascade Conference and seeing how far athletics at MU can go."

Coburn will officially begin his duties as the SID on July 1st, and will hit the ground running with the highly anticipated Portland ProAm also beginning in the first week of July.

"Jake is a great fit to join our team here at Multnomah," said MU Athletics Director, Lois Vos. "His experience in the Cascade Conference is so valuable and his oustanding work ethic will help us continue to grow as a department and as an institution."

Multnomah University is a new member of the NAIA and the Cascade Conference, for the 2015-16 school year.
