Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period of April 27-May 3.
Austin Hadley
Baseball – Pitcher
Concordia’s Austin Hadley has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Hadley, a junior from Vancouver, Wash., struck out 10 and allowed just two hits against British Columbia on Saturday to help CU advance to the championship game. Tossing 130 pitches (85 strikes), Hadley finished one out shy of a complete game shutout.
The junior right-hander lowered his season ERA to 2.12 and has held his opponents to a .192 average over 19 appearances.

Nate Esposito
Baseball
Concordia’s Nate Esposito has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
Esposito, a senior infielder from Granite Bay, Ore., recorded at least one hit in each of the first four NAIA West Tournament games to help propel the Cavs into the finals of the event. Deadlocked at 0-0 in the 8th, Esposito came through with a 2-run triple against UBC on Sunday en route to the 3-0 win.
Playing 3B after catching the previous three, the senior came up with a crucial snag of a liner with the bases loaded in the 9th to preserve the shutout.

Travis Simpson
Men’s Outdoor Field
Eastern Oregon’s Travis Simpson has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Simpson, a senior from Redmond, Ore., hit two NAIA "A" standards and one NAIA "B" standard this weekend. He started the weekend on Friday by finishing second in the long jump and hitting the "B" standard with a jump of 7.08 meters (23-2 3/4), which is the third best mark on EOU's All-Time List. On Saturday, he hit two NAIA "A" standards in the high jump (2.08 meters; 6-9 3/4) and triple jump (14.67 meters; 48-1 3/4).
Simpson finds himself seventh in the NAIA in triple jump and high jump and 18th in the NAIA in the long jump. Simpson becomes the first EOU men's jumper to qualify for nationals in all three jumps.

Hans Roelle
Men’s Outdoor Track
Eastern Oregon’s Hans Roelle has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Roelle, a senior from Anchorage, Alaska, hit the NAIA "A" standard in the 800 meter run at the Border Clash on Saturday. Roelle ran a time of 1:50.66 and finished third in the event.
He only finished behind two NCAA Division I runners.

Jessica Holsinger
Softball - Pitcher
Corban’s Jessica Holsinger has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Holsinger, a junior from Eagle, Idaho, shut down Oregon Tech twice in the CCC Tournament, throwing 12.2 innings while earning the win in the first game and picking up the save in the second contest, sealing Corban's first-ever CCC Tournament Title in the process.
She struck out 12 batters while dispersing just 11 hits in the two games.

McKenzie Shrum
Softball
Oregon Tech’s McKenzie Shrum has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
Shrum, a junior outfielder from Glide, Ore., recorded seven hits with four RBIs and scored four runs during the Cascade Conference tournament.

Jessica Mattos
Women’s Outdoor Field
Concordia’s Jessica Mattos has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Mattos, a senior from Corralitos, Calif., popped the No. 3 distance in the discus with a career-best 159-6 (48.62m) on Friday at the Oregon State High Performance meet.
The returning All-American also competed in the hammer and added a rare appearance in the shot put, qualifying for the CCC Championships in all three events.

Christa Collmer
Women’s Outdoor Track
Concordia’s Christa Collmer has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the week.
Collmer, a senior from Boring, Ore., competing in the invitational section of the 800 on Friday, turned in a lifetime best with a 2:12.94 for the No. 15 mark in the NAIA.
Collmer's time broke her previous best by nearly two seconds and moves her to No. 3 on CU's all-time performance list. The following day, Collmer helped CU's 4x800 relay team notch an 'A' qualifier to nationals.
