LA GRANDE, Ore. –
CLEVELAND –
Oklahoma Baptist captures its third consecutive NAIA Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup. The Bison will be honored at the 2015 NACDA Convention during the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, June 16.
The Bison defended their title, finishing with 854.50 total points and scored in the maximum number of 12 sports. Propelling them to victory, Oklahoma Baptist placed in the following sports during the spring season; second in women’s outdoor track & field, fourth in men’s outdoor track and field, fifth in baseball, ninth in women’s tennis and 17
th in men’s tennis. They had one score omitted due to the six maximum allowed for women’s and men’s sports – women’s soccer.
The Cascade Collegiate Conference had nine schools represented led by No. 6 Southern Oregon University. The Raiders were national champions in football and placed second in both wrestling and men’s cross country. CCC schools represented in addition to SOU include; Concordia No. 9, Eastern Oregon University No. 27, The College of Idaho No. 30, Oregon Tech No. 48, Warner Pacific College No. 81, Northwest Christian University No. 109, The Evergreen State College No. 134 and Corban University No. 148.
The
Sooner Athletic Conference leads all conferences with three institutions in the top 10 –
Oklahoma Baptist (1

Oklahoma City (3
rd) and
Wayland Baptist (4
th).
All eight spring NAIA championships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles:

The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and
USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 12 sports -- six women’s and six men’s.
