Cascade Conference Honored at CoSIDA Convention
ORLANDO, Fla. – It was a banner week for the Cascade Conference on a national scale at the 2015 NAIA-Sports Information Directors Association held their annual meeting in conjunction with the CoSIDA Convention inside the Marriott Orlando World Center.
College of Idaho Director of Athletic Communications Mike Safford was selected by his peers to one of two open seats on the NAIA-SIDA Board of Directors and will be a vocal voice for the CCC on the national front.
The conference also was well represented in the 2015 NAIA-SIDA Publication and Media Contest, as league schools won two “Best in the NAIA” awards, had 10 podium finishes, and won a combined 21 Top-10 awards.
CCC SID of the Year Josh McDermott of Southern Oregon won the national multi-sport schedule card contest for his winter sports production. He also earned second-place honors for Splash Page or Wallpaper and new Instagram Followers Gained, plus a third-place finish in Facebook Likes Gained.
College of Idaho led the CCC with 10 Top-10 honors, including a Best in the NAIA award for Randall Post’s publicity piece, “Play Football at the C of I.” C of I earned podium honors in multiple writing, social media, and video production categories.
Danny Day, sports information director at Corban University, earned six accolades in the contest, including a fourth-place finish in the Best Website category and Feature Story categories.
