BLUE RIVER, Ore. – The Corban University women's golf program began a new era of Warrior Golf on Monday and Tuesday at the New Hope Christian Invite, registering single round and two-round records with strong showings in the opening tournament of the year.

Thanks to a round one 48-over par score of 336 on day one, the Warriors shattered the single-round record, and the two-round total of 697 (336, 361) also sets a new record for the Navy and Gold.

"Our women's team opened the season up on a strong note," said head coach Tom Graves. "There were many positives to take away from this tournament as well as many things for them to improve on heading into our first conference match this coming week. I am very excited for this squad of women and the potential they have to do great things in the CCC this year!"

Winning her first-ever tournament for Corban was junior Carrie Wallace (La Grande, Ore.), as she tallied a two-day total of 167 (83, 84), showing consistency and poise as a savvy veteran. Jenna Jensen was Corban's second-best finisher, as she registered the best single-round score of the campaign for Corban on day one, shooting an 80 before notching a 91 on day two for a total of 171.

Rounding out Corban's scorers were sophomore Lauren Kessel (Keizer, Ore.) with a two round score of 179 (87, 92) and freshman Casey Jansen (Waddell, Ariz.) with a tournament score of 180 (86, 94).

Also competing for Corban at the tournament for one day was freshman Hannah Clarizio (Molalla, Ore.), and she signed her scorecard with an 87. In addition, freshman Faith Udy (Woodland, Wash.) finished at 181 (93, 88), while freshman Danielle French (Antioch, Calif.) shot a 213 (103, 110).

Corban returns to the course next week when it competes in the Oregon Tech Fall Invite on Monday and Tuesday at the Running Y Resort.
