SALEM, Ore. – The No. 2-ranked Northwest Christian University women’s cross country team finished in five of the top-six spots on Friday in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) Preview Meet, winning the race with ease. Overall, Southern Oregon University placed second and Corban took third on the day.

Team Final Point Totals:
1st: Northwest Christian: 18
2nd: Southern Oregon: 50
3rd: Corban: 82
4th: Eastern Oregon: 107
5th: Pacific: 120
NCU’s Alyssa Harmon and Sierra Brown were neck and neck the entire race, and Harmon beat out teammate Brown with a final push at the line to win the meet with a time of 18:09.1, defeating Harmon by 0.8 seconds. Shea Vallaire, Michelle Fletcher, and Rosa Schmidt finished fourth, fifth, and sixth for the Beacons en route to the CCC Preview Meet victory.
For the SOU women, Jessa Perkinson registered the team’s top finish in third place overall with a time of 18:25.5, while Rebecca Lupescu took ninth with a mark of 19:23.3. In addition, Kayle Blackmore crossed the finish line in 10th with a mark of 19:44.4
Back in action for the Corban Warriors was Lexi Mitzel, as she raced to a seventh-place finish with a time of 19:06.4, crossing the finish line as Corban’s top runner on the day. Elizabeth Weber finished about a minute behind her in 14th overall with a mark of 20:05.9.
Amanda Welch led the way for EOU with a 15th place mark of 20:14.9, while Kailey Wilson took 18th with a mark of 20:30.6. For Pacific, the Boxers saw Stephanie Spencer shine with an eighth-place finish and a time of 19:17.
While Warner Pacific did not score as a team, its top runner of the day was Makenna Conley in 30th place with a time of 21:04.8.
