Oltman Sets School Record with 4 Goals to lead Tech Past Trinity Lutheran
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – To say Oregon Tech’s Casey Oltman had a great day might be an understatement; the senior scored the first four goals of the game, setting a new school record in the process as he led the Owls past Trinity Lutheran 5-1 Saturday afternoon at Trevor Derrah Field.
Oltman got started in just the 3rd minute of play, heading in a perfect cross from Daniel Blessinger to give Tech the 1-0 lead.
The two would hook up again just 15 minutes later on the same exact play as Blessinger dribbled just inside the 18 and sent a perfect cross in front of the Eagles’ goal. Oltman was in the perfect spot to head the ball in for his second goal of the game and the year, giving the Owls the 2-0 lead.
Oltman gave Tech a 3-0 lead in the 25th minute taking a Mack Murphy pass and scoring into the right corner while sliding from 15 yards out.
The final 20 minutes of the first half would pass without any further scoring as both teams missed on a several opportunities.
Oltman would score his school record fourth goal of the game just two minutes into the second half, taking a Leonardo Alonzo cross inside the box and finishing with authority in the back of the net from the right side.
Trinity Lutheran would score on a penalty kick by Giancarlo Soprano in the 68th minute to make it a 4-1 game.
Tech’s Murphy finished off the scoring as he took a loose ball and scored in the 76th minute.
Oregon Tech held a 27-21 advantage in shots and a 13-6 edge in shots on goal.
Oregon Tech will play Linfield College Sunday at 3:00 pm with Trinity Lutheran will play Multnomah at 1:00 pm both games will take place at Trevor Derrah Field Sunday at Steen Sports Park.
