Turnovers Plague Wolves in 40-115 Loss to Raiders

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – Walla Walla University (0-14, 0-8) lose to #12 Southern Oregon University (15-0, 8-0) 115-40. 
 
In the opening quarter, Walla Walla struggled against Southern Oregon’s fine-tuned defense and quickly found themselves behind 20-2 early in the game.
 
 Kassidy Kuykendall hit four jump shots to score 8 of the Wolves 11 first quarter points, as they trailed the Raiders 31-11 going into the second.
 
 Turnovers haunted Walla Walla in the first half (22 total) and Southern Oregon’s 29 points off of those turnovers, along with their 38 points in the paint to the Wolves 4, gave the Raiders the 57-23 advantage going into halftime.
  
The second half was all Southern Oregon, as the Raiders continued to build onto their first half 34 point lead. The Lady Wolves played hard, but would eventually fall at the end of regulation to Southern Oregon by a score of 115-40.
  
The Raider’s balanced offense was led by Courtney Setzer’s 18 points, Sydney Mullings’ 16 points, and Ashley Claussen’s 14 points.
 
 The Wolves’ were led by Kassidy Kuykendall’s strong 15 point game and Grace Wallace’s double double of 10 points and 10 rebounds.
